Paul's Story

God spent decades on my dad. When asked why he needed Jesus, he simply responded that he was going the wrong way. God was patient with him. He was going after his soul and he was saved not by anything he said or did, but by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. He died without any fear and is now standing in the presence of the one true God. We will all have to stand before God & give an account for our lives. Thanks to the victory of Jesus through the cross, my dad's sins were forgiven & I will see him again in paradise. Amen! In January 2011 Paul was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. Unfortunately on 3/9/2011 an MRI scan showed that the tumor has spread to his brain and is at stage 4 which is incurable. Paul passed away on April 21, 2011. This blog was meant to keep people updated and informed. The family appreciates all the prayers and support.

At The University of Kansas Hostipal

Day 2 at the hospital the doctors did some test on Pauls throat to see if there is an infection. We wont know the results for a few days. Paul has still not been able to eat or drink anything for several days now however, today he was able to eat a Popsicle. Paul is very tired (mostly from the morphine) and week but we are able to have short conversations with him. Some old friends from Omaha came to see him. They were old coworkers that he has not seen for years. When I asked him who visited today he was very emotional. I think he really appreciated them coming in town. I hear that they brought him a green wig and took pictures with him.

It was a blessing to have Phil and Ora bring the family Chipotle to the hospital on Tuesday night. It had been a long day and we were all hungry. I know dad was happy to see his brother, sister-in-law and father yesterday as well as everyone else who came and saw him.

We are all realizing that when we as Christians, hear of people who are in need, we are called to do something about it. It has been challenging but a valuable lesson.
