We found out today from a body scan that Paul's cancer has spread to other areas of his body including his bones, other lung, and adrenal glands. We have been informed that he only has a few weeks to live. As you can imagine it has been a hard day for the family. Tomorrow a hospital team is meeting with our family to decide what the best plan of action is. We spent the evening with Paul and had some tough conversations about planning his funeral and also talked about life without him. We also talked about old memories with him when we were young boys.
Please keep us, especially Paul in your prayers tonight as he lies in his bed knowing that he will soon be in his heavenly home. There is a lot of work to be done.
We bought him an ice cream cone tonight and guess what. He ate the whole thing. He always did have a sweet tooth for ice cream. Here is a picture
I am thinking of all of you during this unfortunate and heartbreaking time. May you find peace and comfort in this time of need. Hugs to you all~

Words have escaped me but I see this image from Genesis 48 and 49. It is Jacob. One verse said he strengthened himself sat up on his bed and then he proceeded to bless the sons of Joseph and then his twelve sons. I would encourage Paul to proclaim a blessing over his grandchildren and his sons. God breathed words from the Lord to his spirit that speak to their giftings and their destiny. Words the Holy Spirit will watch over to perform. And may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all(2 Cor.13:14).
ReplyDeletePaul, It dawned on me in the recent past that it was not God's will that Job suffer, but God did allow it. We just don't know. I really believe that your suffering is not worthy to be compared to the glory that is soon to be. (That is easy for me to say!) I have always appreciated your quiet humor and your great family. Your teasing often made Mimi's day and for that I thank you. Karen and boys -- God bless you. Love, Brian Manning
